Drill pipes are used for lowering into a borehole and lifting a rock-cutting tool, transmitting rotation, creating an axial load on the tool, supplying flushing fluid or compressed air to the bottomhole.
Drill pipes are interconnected by drill locks with a special locking thread. The ends of the pipes are thickened to increase their strength, external (EU), internal (IU) or combined upset (IEU) and are produced in the following strength groups: E-75, E-95, G-105, S-135.
